Master Outdoor Blinds has 3 main materials it uses for outdoor blinds, while sheer-weave screens have a unique, micro-perforated material. For our outdoor blinds all the windows are made of UV-stabilised clear pvc (windows may also be replaced with high-tenacity mesh screens instead), while the main body of the outdoor blinds are made of either poly-acrylic (acrylic + polyester blend) ripstop canvas or 100% acrylic canvas (Docril® from Spain). Sheer-waeave screens are made primarily out of UV-stabilised micro-perforated solar textiles, our current default fabric being the Dickson® Sunworker material.
UV-stabilised clear pvc
A clear, highly UV-resistant material. This is our primary choice for outdoor blind windows as it offers greater clarity, suppleness and resistance to shrinkage than it's non UV-stabilised counterparts.
Cleaning instructions - UV PVC:
Dust: Hose down twice 3 minutes apart, allow to dry before storage.
Dirt: Hose down first to remove dust, then use a neutral detergent (good quality dish washing liquid) mixed with luke warm water, and a soft bristled brush to dislodge dirt.
Rinse and allow to dry before storage.
Ripstop canvas
Ripstop canvas, (also known as ripblock or ribblock) is an acrylic treated polyester fabric with a special weave that is abrasion resistant and prevents cuts and tears from spreading. This polyester acrylic blend canvas first starts off as a basket-weave base mat which is then stitched horizontally and vertically in order to create the anti-rip effect. This high tenacity base mat is then impregnated with a coloured acrylic emulsion. The strong polyester core allows for more flexibility and durability in outdoor blinds that are regularly deployed on a daily basis, whilst the acrylic content protects the canvas against the UV-rays of the sun. Please note: even though this canvas is cheaper than, and assumed inferior to, 100% acrylic canvas, outdoor blinds made of high tenacity ripstop installed in high usage areas such as staff canteens will regularly outlast blinds made of 100% acrylic canvas and as such, is our chosen default fabric for our pulley-operated outdoor drop blinds. Master Outdoor Blinds does manufacture outdoor blinds made of 100% acrylic canvas, but only recommends these blinds for permanent, uninterrupted deployment or low mobility scenarios.

SheerWeave® solar screens, aka SheerWeave® outdoor blinds
Our Sheer-weave outdoor blinds solar fabric weighs 488 grams per square meter, is imported from the USA and we offer it in frameless, guided and sidetracked deployment options.
Sheer-weave is a UV-resistant, fire-retardant and antimicrobial solution to controlling natural light.
Dickson® Sunworker™
Solar fabrics are uv-stabilised, lightweight, micro-perforated and effectively block out the worst the sun has to offer while still allowing full visibility.
It controls glare and provides controlled natural light, harmoniously diffusing it across your outdoor space. Sunworker is UV-resistant, fire-retardant and has a very high mechanical strength. Sunworker is also unique in that it repels up to 95% of heat, effectively insulating any space it is used in.
